“It was unfortunate. That was essentially an interaction with our fans seated near me,” Jones explained during a Tuesday interview. “Present was a swarm of Cowboys fans—not New York fans, Cowboys fans. The entire stadium was brimming with excitement for the Cowboys.”
Jones additionally emphasized that the signal was entirely accidental, occurring amid the excitement following the team’s last score. “I just put up the wrong digit,” he noted. “The action was inadvertently done.
