Since the launch of the fourth campaign, new Dungeon Master Brennan Lee Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with extensive world-building, a colorful mix of characters, and a gripping narrative featuring angels, evil spirits, and dark forces expanding in influence within the city.
Warning: Key plot points for the third episode of this adventure follow below.
The Soldiers Table Revealed
Episode 3 ended with a huge suspense moment and revealed the first table of heroes who will split off from the primary party to begin their separate journey, separate from the other two tables.
This warrior group consists of Teor Pridesire (portrayed by Travis), the agile character (Laura Bailey), Tyranny (Whitney Moore), Wicander (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan Vale (the actor).
Why Split the Party?
With an extensive roster, it was clear from the beginning that having everyone at the same party would be unworkable.
Hence, the opening chapters of this story serve as an Introduction, connecting the personal journeys before dividing into three separate parties: Fighters, Planners, and Questers.
Characteristics of the Soldiers Table
Per the DM, the combat-focused party is for adventurers who are drawn to a traditionally charged battle-oriented narrative style where peaceful solutions are few and far between.
Initially, figures such as the hesitant healer Wicander might seem unsuited, but the actions of the latest installment make it clear why these five characters are best suited for the Soldiers table.
Why They Must Go
To begin with, the team understands precisely where to go next after a intense opening clash with The Crow Keepers.
An old friend of Thjazi—whose death initiated the campaign’s events—manipulated The Crow Keepers for his personal gain, invading the hidden lair, striking Thimble, and stealing all the powerful objects to dispose of.
The antagonist then paid off his liabilities and escaped to a secure base in the northern region, north of the urban center, with Cyd Pridesire close behind.
Individual Reasons
Moreover, each character has a specific drive to depart the urban setting:
- The rogue, as the companion and closest confidant, desires vengeance.
- The adventurer is familiar with Timmony and advises that it is a hostile environment.
- The strong character and The healer, having defied his relatives’ demands to kill Teor and instead freed him, have no other options.
- But, their status as prominent individuals in the influential clan could enable the group enter areas they usually can’t.
- Furthermore, The grateful character vowed a eternal obligation to The cleric for his salvation and will now accompany him everywhere.
Wanted and Hunted
Lastly, all of them are sought by the authorities that govern the city for a range of causes, making staying in the city too risky:
- The agile adventurer and The hero are notorious outlaws.
- Tyranny and Wicander turned against the powerful family and the legion of demons they are aligned with.
- The target is marked for death by the family.
This results in them few options but to head to Timmony in pursuit of the traitor.
